Hi there, I’m Steve and welcome to my travel blog! The aim of this blog is to showcase some of the travels that me and my partner Amy have enjoyed so far. We’re not backpackers, but just a regular couple from the UK who enjoy holidays, trips, city breaks and sometimes the unusual.

Given that I have a 9 to 5 job, my travel choices are important to me because I only have so much holiday time to use in a year. Pre-Covid, me and Amy try to have a couple of holidays a year. Additionally, we may also stretch to a couple of city breaks too. Being based in the UK, we also enjoy touring the country if we get a free weekend.

This travel blog features some of our experiences on our travels from the perspective of a regular couple. Most of us enjoy a good trip, and I’m going to highlight a few tips and tricks we’ve learned along the way. So hopefully this will allow you to enjoy travel that little bit more.

Where possible I’ve included my own photos in my posts, with little or any editing aside from cropping. I’m not the best photographer, but I think it’s important to show photos that are actually representative. This way there are no disappointments if you travel to the same location!

The name ‘Weigh the Suitcase’ came from a phrase I’m always saying to my partner Amy we when are about to travel somewhere (I’m sure we’ve all been there – an empty suitcase lying on the bed next to a mountain of clothes, shoes and gadgets!).

We’ve not yet travelled the entire world, but we’ve been fortunate enough to visit a diverse range of destinations. These include city breaks, traditional holidays and the odd adventure of two! This travel blog will highlight these and hopefully provide you with some valuable information and . Because knowledge is power, right?
